WHAT'S NEW ON THE THOMPSON RIVER...

...It's moving right along and was starting to go down before the deluge we have been experiencing all morning.  Maybe it will rain for 40 nights (we need the 40 days to be dry for the farmers and the motorcyclists) and keep the water tables up for this year.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN AND AROUND SPENCES BRIDGE...

We've had a couple of weeks of great, warm weather - topping up at barely under 40 degrees farenheit on Saturday.  This town was just swarming with passers-by and campers enjoying the rivers and dry heat our little valley offers for the outdoor enthusiast.  There's a Music Festival taking place at the old school grounds on the August 13th - 15th weekend - at the moment I don't have the details, but I'll find a place on the web where the information can be found and pass it on.

The strange spring and summer has  got all our flowers confused and as yet their splendor is just holding back.  Except the hanging baskets from Hilltop Gardens ... they are so heavy that the wires holding them are breaking!  I have a bunch of coleus waiting for a place under the windows, but have so far been too busy to put them in more permanent quarters.  Remember the way they looked last year?  Added to John's referbishing of the back patio, the window boxes loaded with flowers will be like the icing on the cake once the weather stabilizes a little!  Oh well, there should be a bunch of summer still to come.

(Last year's coleus splendor!)

So here's the Motel news:  We're selling it along with the pub.  Seven acres with the pub and 19-room motel on it is what we're putting up for sale.  We are anxious to move on.

Meanwhile, back at the Cabin, we're going full bore and just waiting for the wonderful winter we had to go away.  The hours are back to 11am to 11pm every day.  Our Jam Session hosts are taking a break for the summer - see you in September, everyone!
